James Lekvin is originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, home of Bon Iver and neighbor to the Leinenkugel’s Brewery. Armed with a theatre degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, he moved to Minneapolis in the mid ‘90s to pursue a professional acting career and has appeared in productions with Swandive Theatre, Theatre Pro Rata, Theatre Unbound and his own company, Frontier Theatre...as well as a few movie productions.
Two Drinks In, his Minneapolis-based podcast, marks the first time James has been on air talent for a weekly series. However, his drunken happy hour hijinx have been going on for far too long...so he's had a lot of practice. We're talkin' a lot!
In his spare time, James likes to distract himself with collecting music, watching trashy TV, and hanging with his family. He also fritters away the hours enjoying an ice-cold beer or whipping up a batch of his “secret recipe” drinks, including a killer Bloody Mary and the holiday cocktail, Jimmy Frost. If you ask nicely, he might make one (or both) for you.
D. Marie Long
D. Marie Long
D. Marie Long comes from the suburban delight known as Aurora, Colorado, where she learned about downhill skiing, Crips, and how to keep your skin moistened at 5,280 feet. She escaped to the great white north for college, learning that all of the stereotypes about Fargo/Moorhead were mostly true.
D. trained to be a stage manager in the theatre, but decided one set of educational debts wasn't enough, so then ventured to Missoula, Montana, to get another theatre degree, one that sounds super fancy because the word "Master" is in it. She then moved to the one city that really felt like home, Minneapolis, to be part of the theatre scene and around family, friends, and her favorite people in the world: Minnesotans.
She works for a locally owned & operated green cleaning business while continuing to stage manage and direct plays when she can. Or when she wants to. Or when she gets paid for it.
You can hear her each week on her podcast, Two Drinks In, with her other three cohorts.
Erin Roberts hails from New England by way of New York City. She's an actor, athlete, and world traveler -- not to mention, a mover and a shaker. The loyalest of Red Sox fans, Erin feeds her need by watching the Twins and the Saints locally (the Sox on MLB.tv), while playing softball in the summer months...and working on her podcast, Two Drinks In, all year long.
She loves the outdoors, has logged in 3 half marathons, 2 full, was a camp counselor, a hiker and spent several years as a professional swim and ski instructor. A self proclaimed travel nerd, Erin has visited 18 countries, with Russia, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece and Costa Rica as some of her personal favs (btw, she found a great deal for a trip to Iceland or Thailand, so tweet her if you're interested). She loves the fall, game nights, happy hours, movies, days at the beach (the REAL beach, people. She's talking about the ocean ), wine, barbecues, street fairs, Thanksgiving, apple picking, dive bars, her awesome family, and dancing like it's 1999!
Proud member of the Minneapolis scene since November 1, 2014. Let's DO this thang!!
Dana Severson is from the backwoods of Wisconsin (Black River Falls, to be exact), where he learned the finer points of drinking in cornfields, in barns, in ice shanties, in parks, in parking lots, in the back of pickup trucks...well, you get the point. Knowing he was destined to do more than drink, Severson headed off to college at Mankato State University and the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
After earning his degree, he moved to Minneapolis, MN, and now considers himself more of an Urban Hick than anything else. He enjoys watching football (Packers, namely), collecting art (yeah, he's somewhat cultured), listening to vinyls (no, he's not a hipster), playing video games (geeky, true), reading comics (even geekier), and singing Christmas tunes (seasonally, of course).
When not drinking and lazing about, you can find him working on the podcast, Two Drinks In, and writing for cash. He's a writer, by the way.
